Kochi: Indywood Distribution Network & NR Films is all set to release the Indian Malayalam-language drama film, Asif Ali starrer '160/18 Kakshi: Amminippilla' outside Kerala and GCC countries on 21st June, and 28th June worldwide. The said movie is an unusual court drama happening in Thalassery. This realistic court drama unveils interesting case from different layers with humor and emotions. Asif Ali plays the lead role, Ashwathy Manoharan, Ahmed Sidhique and Basil Joseph plays other important roles. Dinjith Ayyathan is making his directorial debut with the film which has been scripted by Sanilesh Sivan and produced by Riju Rajan under the banner of Zarah Films.
Asif plays a role of a struggling lawyer who, despite his passion and profession being diametrically opposite, has to stick to his profession owing to circumstances. He is involved in politics and has a family comprising a wife, mother, and brother. One day, a civil case falls into his lap and he sees in this a chance for redemption. The film traces the development of this case," says Sanilesh.
The film will have a realistic courtroom setting as its backdrop. Vijayaraghavan plays a rival lawyer who is engaged in a battle of wits with Asif's character. The film also casts Mammukoya, Sudeesh, Hareesh Kanaran, Sudhi Paravoor, Sarassa Balussery, Nirmal Palazhi, Sreekanth Murali. The film is distributed in India by E4 Entertainment and worldwide by Indywood Distribution Network & NR Films. Kakshi: Amminipilla will be Asif’s second April release, apart from Nadrishah’s Mera Naam Shaji. The actor is also part of Arun Kumar Aravind’s Underworld, which was launched recently.
