Article 370: India one step ahead of Pak with diplomatic move, briefs UN council

NEW DELHI: Following the removal of Article 370 that gave special status for Jammu and Kashmir, India with a diplomatic move. The Ministry of External Affairs briefed envoys of all countries in the United Nations Security Council – permanent members US, Russia, China, Britain and France and non-permanent Belgium, Dominican Republic, Germany, Indonesia, Kuwait, Peru, Poland and South Africa- on India's historical decision.

India explained that the action was aimed at providing good governance and ensuring economic development in Jammu and Kashmir. ASEAN nations were also briefed on the move.
