Kerala based Businessman to host world’s biggest Film Carnival: 4th Edition

Kochi: Sohan Roy, Founder Director of Project Indywood hosts Indywood Film Carnival, the much-anticipated entertainment fiesta of the year. The five-day event begins on the 1st Of December and has chosen its venue to be HITEX convention center, Hyderabad. Mr. Roy, began the carnival four years ago with an aim that Indian Film Industry should come forward to conceive and implement big budget international projects instead of following clichéd subjects and treatment pattern. The Carnival is expected to accelerate the growth of Indian Film Industry through materializing big budget movie projects, co-production ventures and B2B meet generating business worth Rs 500 crore.

The fourth edition of Indywood Film Carnival (IFC 2018), a flagship venture of 10 billion USD Project Indywood, focuses to elevate Indian cinema to an international level. It will be one-stop platform for showcasing the latest technology and future possibilities in the entire spectrum of film making, skill development, pre-production, production, technical support, post-production, distribution, marketing and release among others. This Year the few major attractions of the Indywood Film Carnival would be Indywood Billionaires Meet, Indywood Academy Awards, Indywood Telly Awards, Indywood Fashion Premier and All Lights India International Film Festival and many more. “India is gifted with talented actors and technicians. Though, our film industry is not concentrating on making movies which appeal to the international audience. Bahubali is an exception. The movie industry will fetch huge gains if we increase the number of international projects by using advanced technology and world-wide distribution. Indywood Film Carnival is an attempt to educate the stakeholders about the importance of such projects. The entire industry, including actors, technicians, producers and distributors apart from State/Union Governments should come forward to support this desi initiative,” said Mr. Roy.

Project Indywood aims to establish 10,000 4K projection multiplex screens, 100,000 2K/4K projection home cinemas, 8K/4K film studios, 100 animation/VFX studios and film schools adhering to international standards. ALIIFF - the flagship event of Indywood Film Carnival, ALIIFF will screen over 100 movies from nearly 50 countries. Cinema lovers can expect a grand visual experience with PVR Inorbit Mall set to open all its 4 theatre screens for the film festival. The films will be screened in top quality screens with the famous PVR service experience offered in full. At least 16 movies will be screened per day and the films will include premiers of National and International Films. The 4th edition of ALIIFF will see the screening of movies with a long list of must watch short films and documentaries from across the world. There will be most awaited films from the World Cinema and the movies from this year’s Oscar race too. A tribute segment to the legendary Iranian director ‘Abbas Kiarostami’ is another highlight of the festival. Celebrity red carpet walks, exclusive Media Interactions and Q&A sessions with the industry’s leading directors and celebrities will also be held at the venue during the festival.

Indywood Film Market (IFM) expo will be platform to connect with major stakeholders in the film industry. From technology providers to developers, from production agencies to distribution theatre owners would be participating. Indywood Talent Hunt will be an international platform for youngsters to showcase their talents. The competitions will be held in 22 categories including short film, music, dance, still photography, advertisement, educational video, documentary film, animation character, drama, poster designing, dubsmash, performance art, film quiz, online promotion, music album, DJ, children’s short film, best reporter or journalists, RJ hunt, VJ hunt, film club and model hunt. The inauguration of Indywood Billionaires Club was the major highlight of Indywood Film Carnival in 2017. Since then IBC has turned out to be of prime significance as a body uniting India's greatest business tycoons to revolutionize the country’s entertainment Industry and is as the name suggests, a part of the USD 10 Billion project, Indywood. Indywood recently launched its Kerala and Dubai Billionaires Club chapters.

This year, the expo will inaugurate Indywood Fashion Premier League (IFPL), hosted by the prestigious Indywood Billionaires Club. The Indywood Fashion Premier League is a professional fashion competition between 12 teams owned by billionaires with business interests in the field of films and entertainment. It will be held over 3 days from Dec 2-4. The Indywood Fashion Premier League seeks to promote indigenous fashion and talent by commercializing India’s as yet untapped fashion sector and aims to brand the fashion industry of India globally using the country’s billion dollar film Industry.
